ELEMENT WATER

Water element - the water margin, a popular story based upon the 108 freedom fighter warriors that fight for the rights of villagers that have been brutalised by a corrupt governance.  The warriors are tattooed, consequently, the subject matter for the Japanese tattooing history of the civil servants, and firemen of the edo period in Japan.

 

Water represents Yin, north, winter, cold, black and undulating

 

Mercury is the planet, black tortoise is the chosen animal, this element represents wisdom, aptitude, brightness, agile mind, and mental strength.

 

The water element has introspective qualities; it is often referred to as the philosopher.  This element, fosters modesty and sensibility.  Water is associated with wisdom, stamina and endurance.

 

It is quiet until overwhelmed; too much activity, overdoing anything and too much focus on the outer world will deplete water and leads to imblacnce.

 

Water is the source of life on this planet. Water has the capacity to flow, infinitely, yielding yet infinitely powerful,silent and still, awaiting, flexible, ever changing, a stored potential and often dangerous (flood’s devastation) with the capacity also to nourish and clense.

Water represented by. The bolour black/blue and a wave like shape, water’s motion is downward, fluid, secretive, intuitive, compassionate, sensitive, gentle and creative.  Water is the ultimate yin, quiet, cold, representing the resting time of winter.

 

The subject matter Lore has chosen are goldfish and seaweed.

Fish and water elemtn both represent good fortune, prosperity, and abundance in feng shui.  When you put water and fish together, you can amplify the power of these symbols.

 

In shiatsui and in Tcm (traditional Chinese medicine) the water element corresponds to the winter.  It is a time of tranquillity and introspection and helps us be more at ease with our selves allowing us to let go and to relax.

 

Seaweed is a popular edible treat in asia.  Hence, a personal favourite subject matter.
